The Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) aims to contribute to societal development by fostering high-quality higher education in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Science, and Technology. IST is committed to developing Research, Development, and Innovation activities crucial for providing education of the highest international standards. In the context of the New Space Portugal Agenda, IST will focus on cultivating expertise in the preliminary design and optimisation of launchers and space vehicles. This initiative will lead to the establishment of chairs and training courses, contributing significantly to the enrichment of the curriculum in the Space branch of the Master's in Aerospace Engineering.

Today, the University of Beira Interior stands as a distinguished public higher education institution, recognised both nationally and internationally for its excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. With a legacy spanning over 30 years, the university has been a cornerstone in the education of senior staff in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering. Its expertise covers various domains such as Aerospace Vehicle Design, Aerospace Structures, Aerospace Propulsion, Aerospace Systems Dynamics, and Control, among others.
