The Web Summit took place in Lisbon from November 13 to 16 and was attended by the Pedro Nunes Institute with a stand. November 15 was dedicated to Space, with the presentation of the startups from ESASpace Solutions Portugal and the announcement of the NewSpace Agenda. Thus, a series of interviews was conducted with the co-promoters of WP8, with the objective of promoting the Portuguese Space Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.
To present the work of Agenda NewSpace, we had the presence of Emir Sirage, who introduced us to the importance of the Agenda for the future of space in Portugal. Magda Cocco, partner in the aerospace sector at VdA (Vieira de Almeida & Associados), was also present and revealed the role of VdA in the space sector. The VdA is responsible for analysing the legal, economic, and social aspects of the NewSpace Agenda and is evaluating how the evolution of social challenges will shape the future of the Earth observation market.
Joan Alabart Llinàs, from the Portuguese Space Agency, shared ideas about the dynamic space ecosystem in Portugal, highlighting the efforts that drive innovation. Finally, Jorge Pimenta, Director of Innovation, mentioned that they were 3 very exciting days, where the IPN had the opportunity to meet new potential partners and to share the different activities, laboratories and startups that the IPN supports.
We can guarantee that they were 3 days of hard work, but of great satisfaction and promotion of the IPN, Agenda NewSpace and networking projects.
