WP6

Resource training and capacity building

WP6

Within WP6, critical areas of the aerospace sector, including materials, structures, propulsion, flight control and dynamics, and astrodynamics, among others, will be strengthened within the national context. Training opportunities will also be explored in rapidly growing knowledge areas, such as Space Data Science linked to Data Science (including Big Data, Machine Learning, and DeepLearning), Software Defined Radio (SDR), and Instrument Physics for Satellites.Additionally, emphasis will be placed on critical areas in data processing, especially for the Digital Planet developed in WP4.

The overarching goal of WP6 is to generate and disseminate scientific knowledge within the aerospace industry and other relevant sectors to a broad audience in anon-discriminatory manner. Consequently, a specialised training package will be created to attract and qualify specialised Portuguese (and, in some cases,European individuals with an interest in Portugal) manpower for the anticipated growth in the future 'Space Age' over the next few years.

Led by the University of Aveiro, in collaboration with major Higher Education institutions in Portugal with proven experience in these areas, the Agenda aims to develop new specialised training programs tailored to the know-how and specificities of each university. These efforts will contribute to the expansion of the national education offering, as the content will be integrated into the non-economic activities of these entities (education) and made accessible to students. This approach ensures that future graduates will meet the human resource needs of national organisations operating in the aerospace sector.
